Air quality is very unhealthy Monday and will be unhealthy Tuesday for all individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to an updated alert from the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
The AQMD also warned that Tuesday’s air quality will be unhealthy for sensitive individuals in the Antelope Valley, the East San Gabriel Valley, the Los Angeles County Mountains and the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys.
County Health Officer Muntu Davis, MD, MPH, advises people living or working in those areas with heart disease, asthma or other respiratory diseases to minimize outdoor activities.
Children who have sensitive conditions, including heart disease, asthma, and other chronic respiratory diseases, should not participate in unhealthy outdoor physical activity at schools, camps and other recreational programs and should stay indoors as much as possible.
