Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested a Reseda woman in Stevenson Ranch Wednesday after receiving a citizen tip about a possible drunk driver.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“Deputies located a woman in a vehicle matching the description that the caller provided in a parking lot on the 26900 block of The Old Road.
“The woman had the keys in the ignition and engine running. She reportedly told deputies that she drove from Reseda to Stevenson Ranch to buy alcohol at a store.
“The deputy noticed the strong smell of alcohol emitting from the suspect’s breath and saw an open vodka cooler in the car. He also saw several bottles of prescription pills in the front seat.
“Sobriety tests were administered which the suspect did not pass. The preliminary breath test came back at 0.28% B.A.C., over three times the legal limit.
“The 55-year-old Reseda woman was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Thank you (to) the citizen who noticed this driver and called it in. You most likely saved lives.”
