Myles McNamara
The Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation is proud to welcome Myles McNamara, Nick Mitchell and Holly Schroeder to its 2016 Board of Directors.
“We are very grateful to have these three, committed individuals join our Board of Directors,” said Marlee Lauffer, president of the Foundation. “They bring with them valuable experience and we’re sure that they will serve as great ambassadors for the hospital to the Santa Clarita Valley as we continue to build for the health of the community.”
Myles McNamara, President and Owner of Comfort Keepers In-Home Care of Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley for the last 15 years, has lived Santa Clarita since 1998. A longtime supporter of Henry Mayo, McNamara credits the hospital for saving his life after a near-fatal accident in 2014. In addition to supporting the Foundation’s annual golf tournament, both as a player and as a sponsor, as well as sponsoring many community events, he has volunteered with other non-profit organizations, serving as President of the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation, and also serving as a member of its operating Board, The Committee on Aging. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
“After my accident I wanted to step it up by bringing awareness of the community of the great things going on over there at the hospital with patient care,” McNamara said. Once I stayed there as a patient it gave me a different perspective.”

Nick Mitchell
Nick Mitchell, Corporate Counsel at Logix Federal Credit Union (a corporate partner of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation), has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry serving in various leadership roles. His tenure at the credit union has allowed him to serve thousands of members since 2001. Mitchell, a resident of Santa Clarita for 30 years, has volunteered for a number of non-profit and charitable organizations, including the William S. Hart Museum, Chrysalis, Burbank Temporary Aid Center, Woodbury University and Logix Community Stars Foundation. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree at Southwestern Law School, and his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Woodbury University.
“After interacting with Henry Mayo and with other medical providers in Santa Clarita when my mom was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2014, I was impressed by the level of care and attention provided by the nurses and staff of the hospital,” Mitchell said. “The hospital is something all of us will need at some point in our lives. I believe it’s important that we can access high quality healthcare here in Santa Clarita, without having to leave the valley to find the services we need. Henry Mayo is providing that care, and the Foundation fills a critical role by providing funding for continuous improvement and expansion of those needed services.”

Holly Schroeder
Holly Schroeder, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation, has lived in Santa Clarita since 2005. Schroeder has more than 20 years of management and executive experience with private sector, government, and non-profit organizations. Her involvement with the hospital is a natural fit because she comes from a family of doctors—both of her sisters and brother-in-law are physicians. In addition to serving previously as an advisory committee member on the Senior Center Board, Schroeder served on the Hospital Foundation’s Corporate Partners Committee and the Capital Campaign committee. She earned a master’s degree in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and French from St. Olaf College.
“As a Board member, my goal is to help the hospital grow and to be a leader in the healthcare field,” she said. “It’s an important institution in the Santa Clarita Valley. It’s unique in this day and age that we still have a community-owned hospital and that is very special and a great value for our Valley. We want to put that asset to the best possible use to serve our residents.”
