Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies caught and arrested two men and two women from Bakersfield allegedly using credit cards stolen in Santa Clarita to purchase items at a Centre Pointe business.
Here’s the story from the station’s official social media:
Four suspects from Bakersfield that deputies made contact with during a patrol check on Wednesday turned out to be vehicle burglary suspects from last week.
Between January 9-10, a vehicle was burglarized in the 27000 block of Woodlands Drive in Valencia. The suspects stole several items including credit cards and then immediately used them to make purchases in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Surveillance video provided excellent information about the suspect’s vehicle and helped provide descriptions of four suspects.
On January 17, deputies were conducting patrol checks of parking lots in the 26700 block of Carl Boyer Drive in Canyon Country. Deputies immediately recognized the vehicle involved in the previous vehicle burglary and also recognized a male suspect who was walking up to the vehicle after purchasing numerous items at a business.
Deputies detained all four suspects – Kristina Black, 32; Jessica Fisher, 52; Brandon Lane, 31; and Romel Fatouhi, 26. All four are from the Bakersfield area and were identified as the same four suspects in the vehicle burglary from the week prior.
As the deputies conducted their field investigation, they discovered that these suspects were in the business parking lot making purchases with credit cards they had stolen earlier in the morning in the Canyon Country area. Deputies identified three new victims of crimes while searching the vehicle.
Based on an in-depth investigation conducted by patrol personnel and station detectives on Jan. 19, the L.A. District Attorney’s Office filed 18 counts against the four suspects. Some of the suspects had prior criminal histories and are facing sentencing enhancements.
The four suspects remain in custody on bail amounts ranging from $70,000 to $430,000.
