The City of Santa Clarita is serving up fun and exercise this spring and summer with five adult sports leagues and tournaments the young at heart will not want to miss. Non-competitive and competitive team and tournament registrations are available at the Central Park Adult Sports Office, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road. Select leagues and tournaments are available online at santa-clarita.com/Seasons.

Adult Basketball Leagues for men and women are available for registration now through Friday, March 31 at the Central Park Adult Sports Office. Games will be played Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., April 11 to June 22 at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, located at 20870 Centre Pointe Parkway.

Now until Friday, March 31, sign-ups are open for Adult Volleyball Leagues at the Central Park Adult Sports Office. Men and women are invited to compete on a coed, non-competitive team or an open team. Games will take place every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., April 10 through June 19 at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, located at 20870 Centre Pointe Parkway.

Are you ready for an Adult Flag Football Tournament? Sign up now through May 11 at santa-clarita.com/Seasons to compete at the Flag Football Tournament taking place at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 13 at Central Park, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road. Three games are guaranteed, but space is limited so register early. Price of admission is a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.

All ages are invited to compete in the Disc Golf Tournament taking place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the Central Park Disc Golf Course, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road. Men, women and junior divisions are available. Price of admission is a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.

Starting March 20 through March 24, returning teams can reserve their spots for Adult Softball at the Central Park Adult Sports Office. Returning teams can register March 20 through March 24. Open registration will be offered March 27 through April 21. Men and women who are interested in playing but do not have a team should ask the Central Park Adult Sports office about the free agents list at (661) 290-2240 or adultsports@santa-clarita.com.

Metrolink to Hold Public Meetings on AV Line Capacity, Improvements

The 76.6-mile-long Antelope Valley Line has the third-highest ridership in Metrolink’s system with an estimated average of 9,000 passengers daily. However, the uneven terrain and single-tracking along the line in some areas forces trains to travel at a slower speed which results in an estimated travel time of approximately one hour between Santa Clarita and Union Station.
