Comedy Tonight Dinner show will perform “The Altos: Blood is Thicker Than Wine,” a murder mystery dinner show parody, at Mimi’s Cafe at 6 p.m. on April 23.
“The Altos: Blood is Thicker Than Wine” is written by John Logue, who combined every mobster movie ever made and spoofed them in a hilarious, fun dinner show.
In the show, Ernest Anthony “Tony” Alto is dead, and his family and friends are gathered for the reading of the will. The show asks: who will inherit the family business, Ernest and Julio Alto Winery and Vineyards?
Everyone is dying to find out, especially Tony’s daughter, Nebbiolo. Good thing the family consigliere, Francis “Big Frankie” Coppola, is there to investigate, with the help of the guests.
Who whacked Nebbiolo Alto? Was it stepmother Carmela, uncle Julio, twin sister Sangiovese, fiancé Gianni Gigolo, or the mysterious Contessa Asti Spumante?
The murder mystery dinner show would not be complete without a scrumptious meal at Mimi’s Cafe: everyone will start out with their an appetizer of their bread, followed by house or ceasar salad or soup, choice of four entrees, beverage including choice of coffee, tea, lemonade or soft drinks, dessert, tax and server’s gratuity, all included in the price of the ticket which is $59.
Our current production stars Linda Marie, Lizabeth Stockton, Gabriel Vega, Eric Burton, Debbie Price, and Larry Shilkoff. The show is written by John Logue, directed by Gabriel Vega. Jennifer Taliaferro is our Assistant Director and Stage Manager, and Juli Miller is our Managing Director.
When purchasing tickets, there will be a choice of one of four options. One is grilled salmon and frites, which consists of Atlantic salmon, house-made lemon-garlic butter, thin-cut frites, sautéed garlic spinach.
The second option is French pot roast: beef bourguignon braised with carrots, mushrooms and pearl onions in a red wine shallot sauce over mashed potatoes.
The third option is chicken Tillamook cheddar mac: pulled chicken in a rich Tillamook Creamery cheddar sauce with crumbled bacon, penne pasta and Parmesan crust.
There will also be a Vegetarian entree available.
