April 4: Western Music Association Showcase at El Trocadero Steakhouse
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Musicians and cowboy poets perform stories and songs of the romantic Old West, contemporary music of the American West, and songs of the open range and the American cowboy. To perform your Western music or poetry with them during this event, email wmacc@westernmusiccalifornia.org.

April 5: ARTree – Figure Drawing at ARTree Community Arts Center
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Are you an artist frustrated with the lack of opportunities to draw in Santa Clarita? Come to ARTree Community Arts Center for a chance to really explore your creative potential using a live model. Just drop in and bring a pencil and paper.
Every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month, with some additional dates throughout the year.

April 5: 10 by 10: Variety Show at The MAIN
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Join us for 10 by 10, the FREE monthly variety show in Old Town Newhall featuring music, film, storytelling, magic, comedy and more! Presented by Valencia Auto Center, 10 by 10 occurs on the first Thursday of every month when 10 performers from a variety of genres perform a 10-minute piece of their choosing. Every month is different; you never know what you will see on stage!
Performances in March: Storytelling from Ruby Cooper, Isadora O’Boto, and Philip Scorza; Comedy from Shawn G and Richard Myers; Music from Fisher Fifteen, Ted Case, and The New Mexican; Mentalist Gabe Ableson; and the Film Shorts “Route 66” and “Glenda.” Visit the 10 by 10 website for performer bios.

April 5: JAM Session & Concert – Line Dance at Old Town Newhall Library
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Dance to the beat and experience something unexpected with JAM Sessions – fun, interactive music and dance events hosted in conjunction with the Ford Theatre Foundation. Presented by Valencia Auto Center, the evening integrates live dance instruction from professional instructors with live band performances.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a chair if you just plan on listening to the music. JAM Sessions are participatory and centered around movement and music. All JAMs are free, and all ages and skill levels are welcome.
This month: Line Dance
Get ready for the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival by learning to Line Dance with Candy Sherwin. Candy will show you dance step sequences that will get everyone moving together as one. Dust off your boots and join in the lines! Your new-found skills will come in handy as you listen to the sounds of The Mary White Band, whose energy and enthusiasm will make it hard to sit still.

April 6: Comedy Mashup Presents: Craig Conant at The MAIN
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Comedy Mashup returns to The MAIN for another great evening of comedy and improv hosted by Sebastian Corley. Headlining for the month of April is Craig Conant, a regular host and featured performer at The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv and The Laugh Factory. He has also been seen on Comedy Central, the Michael Yo Show and more. Tonight’s improv features Your Favorite Cast keeping things light and funny with a variety of scenes and games.
A little more about the cast: Comedy Mashup is a group of working comedians and improvisers from all over the Valley and Hollywood that come together once a month to put on a show that is one half stand up and the other half improv comedy. The improvisers work in the television, movie and theme park industries as well as the following venues: iO West, UCB and The Groundlings. The comedians work weekly at some of the biggest clubs in Los Angeles: The Comedy Store, The Hollywood Improv, Pasadena Ice House and Flappers.

April 6: Rex’s Exes at Canyon Theatre Guild
Time: 8:00 p.m.
The Verdeen cousins from The Red Velvet Cake War are back with more shenanigans in Sweetgum, Texas. This hysterical, southern-fried comedy will have you rolling in the aisles with laughter.
