The California Department of Transportation Caltrans announced overnight full closures of Interstate 210 Foothill Freeway in the San Fernando Valley for striping and staging of a temporary lane configuration for a paving project. Crews will close I-210 Foothill Freeway between I-5 Golden State Freeway to SR-118 Simi Valley Freeway for five evenings April 4 to April 8 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Residents and local businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities.
The closures are as follows:
Full closure of westbound and eastbound I-210 between State Route 118 and Roxford Street.
Westbound and eastbound Paxton Street on-ramp
Westbound and eastbound Maclay Street on-ramp
Westbound and eastbound Hubbard Street on-ramp
Westbound and eastbound Polk Street on-ramp
Westbound and eastbound Roxford Street on-ramp
Westbound and eastbound Yarnell Street on-ramp
I-5 to eastbound I-210 connector
SR-118 to westbound I-210 connector
Motorists will be detoured onto Foothill Boulevard via the I-210 Paxton Street off-ramp to continue towards their destination. Motorists heading to the Newhall Pass are encouraged to use SR-118 to I-5.
Some closures may start and end later. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to check traffic conditions before leaving to their destination.
The work on I-210 is part of a $135.5 million project replacing all lanes of I-210 with new pavement from Wheatland Ave to I-5. This project is funded by Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. Overhead sign structures, traffic loop detectors, center median barrier and the guardrail system are also being upgraded by this project.
Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
