[KHTS] – Brittney Miller welcomed twin boys Greyson and Forrest into the world six months ago. The boys were born two months before their due date, which caused severe complications for Forrest, although not for Greyson.
“We found out that Forrest is going to need open heart surgery, a series of three jaw surgeries, stomach surgery and abdominal surgery,” said Miller on her blog.
After seeing several specialists and traveling 1,700 miles for the past few weeks, UCLA doctors have concluded that Forrest will undergo six to seven surgeries in the next year.
Apart from his heart condition, he also suffers from Sleep Apnea, which causes his breathing to fluctuate throughout the night, according to specialists at UCLA.
Due to the heavy financial burden that comes with each surgery, insurance is not able to cover many of the costs. For that reason, the family has asked for help from the community to raise $6,500 for Forrest’s medical costs.
On Aug. 15, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valencia Hills Community Church, a Rummage and Bake Sale will be held to raise money for Forrest.
Kokolitas Cakes in Newhall will be providing the baked goods, which will start at 50 cents each.
Furniture, home goods, clothing, designer goods and more will be on sale, along with a raffle. Any items that wish to be donated should be dropped off at the church the day before the sale from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Over the next two years, Forrest will undergo many surgeries, but through these hardships, the Miller Family has remained strong and hopeful.
“This by far will be the hardest year of our lives, but all we can do is trust God to know that everything is going to work out. Forrest is the happiest kid I know and it just makes me so thankful for him and our life,” said Miller.

Where is that church located? I would like to go.
I’m not very technical and don’t know how to share this on many, many FB pages. I know the people of SCV would donate to this rummage sale or even shop at it. Please share this on FB.
