The SCV Senior Center Silvertone Singers under the direction of John Swinford present, “Doo-Wop Concert,” Thursday, Aug. 23, from 2:30 p.m. 4:30 p.m.

The concert will take place at the SCV Senior Center dining room. Donations accepted.

“A-Papa-Papa-Papa-Oo-Mau-Mau! Sha-lang, Sha-lang! Doo-Wa-Diddy!”

Do these phrases sound strange to your ear? Well, they’re supposed to, since they filled in for missing instruments in music from the 50’s and 60’s in a genre known as “Doo-Wop.”

The Silvertone Singers perform popular doo-wop songs such as Rockin’ Robin, Sh-Boom, Under the Boardwalk, Tears on My Pillow, Earth Angel, Daddy’s Home, and many more as you drift back in time to those carefree summer days of youth.

Light refreshments will be served.

The SCV Senior Center is located at 22900 Market St, Santa Clarita, 91321.
