A burning body that was found near Lake Hughes Road a week ago is not that of missing teen Bryce Laspisa, according to Sheriff’s Department officials.
“It was related to a murder (in South Los Angeles),” said Detective Eddie Brown of the Homicide Bureau of the Sheriff’s Department.
“There are three suspects in custody,” Brown said. “It was a coincidence that (the body dump) was occurring at the time that this happened.”
The body belonged to a murder victim who lived in South Los Angeles, according to Sheriff’s Department officials.
“It’s not related to (the body in Gorman) and not related to any other case,” Brown said.
The body was found at by a cyclist near Lake Hughes Road, mile marker 5N32, in Lake Hughes.
