With the temperatures forecasted to be significantly above 100°F Monday through Thursday this week, Bridge to Home will open its shelter facility during the afternoons to provide a cool place for residents needing to escape the heat.
The shelter, located at 23031 Drayton Street, Newhall 91321, will be open Monday, July 23 from noon until 5:30 p.m. through Friday, July 27 from noon until 8:30 p.m.
The regular dinner service, Feeding It Forward, will be served on its usual Tuesday-Friday evenings.
Volunteers are needed to assist, and donations of water, ice and snacks will be gratefully accepted.
Community members wishing to volunteer should contact Olga Ruiz (olga.ruiz@btohome.org).
For donations, please deliver items to the Bridge to Home Shelter at the Drayton Street location after 12 noon on these days.
Donations may also be dropped off before noon at the Bridge to Home administrative office, 23752 Newhall Avenue, Newhall 91321.
Bridge to Home is doing its best to open the shelter to provide relief to people needing a place to escape the extreme heat on days when temperatures are forecasted to be above 99°.
We encourage you to visit btohome.org and look for additional ways to support the work of ending homelessness in the Santa Clarita Valley. Together we can make a difference.
