1861 - Fort Tejon commander ordered to abandon fort (est. 1854) & transfer garrison to Los Angeles [story]
Fort Tejon

[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Canyon Country man Wednesday night after responding to reports of a commercial burglary and a BB gun assault.

Brandon Spencer, 22, was arrested on assault with a deadly weapon charges in Saugus.

The investigation began after a report of a commercial burglary at a hobby store on the 25600 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, according to Sheriff’s Station arrest records.

lasd_scvstation_pressrelease_badgeSeveral Airsoft-style guns were stolen from the store after it closed, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit deputies.

Deputies then responded to reports of a man driving a Ford Explorer alone near the Valencia mall, shooting BBs at patrons in front of the TGI Friday’s restaurant there around 11 p.m.

Six individuals, age 16-30 reported being shot at while standing in the outside area of the restaurant, by a man behind the wheel of an SUV.

There were minor injuries reported by the victims.

The SUV approached with its lights off, the driver poked an orange-tipped BB gun barrel out the window and fired several times, hitting two people, according to Sheriff’s Station reports.

Deputies caught up with Spencer, conducted a traffic stop and then found BB guns they alleged to have been stolen from the hobby store earlier in the evening.

Spencer was arrested on commercial burglary and assault with a deadly weapon charges.

He’s being held in lieu of $30,000 bail and is due at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday.

The BB gun shooting comes a little more than a month after a similar crime was reported in a Walmart parking lot in Stevenson Ranch.

The suspect in that crime seriously injured a woman who was shot in the eye following a brief dispute.

Deputies arrested Cory Allen Flenory, 27, of Valencia, in connection with that crime.

Flenory is facing one count each of mayhem and vandalism over $400, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Flenory’s charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison, if he’s convicted as charged.

I want to say that this case was NOT investigated fully, Cory Flenory wasn’t even in that area when the robbery took or the road rage. The attack to his wife was started by the wife he was defending himself. She was controlling and very jealous. I am his mother and the wife Kim admitted to me that she lied to the police to have Cory taken to jail, she lied on the witness stand and made a false police report that led the police to think my son did this awful thing. It is time to bring the wife to justice. I am ready to come forward and testify. So this case needs to be looked into and get all the truth.
