logo-lacodistrictattorneyA Santa Clarita father was convicted Thursday of repeatedly raping his own minor daughter during a yearlong sexual relationship.

The jury found Daniel Bryant Wisehart, 47, of Canyon Country, guilty on all 30 charges Thursday. He could face up to 143 years if convicted, according to officials.

He’s expected to be sentenced March 30.

Wisehart was accused of one count of lewd acts upon a child and 29 counts of rape against the victim, on charges that he repeatedly raped his daughter over a one-year period five years ago.

The victim’s mother found out about the allegations in May, and Wisehart was arrested, according to testimony presented in court.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Emily Cole of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

The case was investigated by the Special Victims Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Wisehart was arrested May 15 at 11:50 a.m., according to Sheriff’s Department arrest records. He’s been in custody since his arrest.

The complaint filed alleges the crimes occurred between June 1, 2009, and June 30, 2010.

Wisehart was being held at Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $3 million bail.

Casey don’t blame the mother please. I lived this senario with my daughter . I as a mother had to work in order to support my family and wasn’t always there. My x was a monster who did not work and threatened each of us with our lives.on a daily basis. My daughter was too afraid to tell me. Say nothing until you have walked a mile in my shoes

    • No. Has a mother you should have protect your daughter and their isn’t an excuse for that , yes you had to work , yes you where not always there , but you know this wasn’t a save place for your daughter , you left her with a monster and you know that was going to happen.
And yes I can say this ….

  11. Libbie Allen Libbie Allen says:

My ex-daughter in law moved into Daniel’s trailer WITH my granddaughter when her Dad was in Iraq. There was nothing we could do – Her step mom couldn’t do anything. I called DHS and they went out and looked at the place – AND knew Daniel was on probabation for domestic abuse but said the situation wasn’t bad enough to pull her out. This was a single wide trailer partitioned so he was renting space to 3 others plus KT’s mom. And we couldn’t do anything. KT says she was not touched by him but I wonder.

  12. So sorry….God help this angle…let your justice fall on this man Amen

The person who wrote this has issues. It is NOT a relationship.

  19. Doesn’t it seem as though there has been an increase in this sort of crime lately? Or is it that due to the fast speed of information travel that we hear more about this.? This so saddens my heart. I can just never wrap my brain around these things when they happen. How does one do that to a child, his own child.? What is the root cause of this sort of thing? Just pedophilia ? People often condemn the mother and I hate to see that go down. The child has been brainwashed and probably believed what the perp told her. I hate to wish bad things on people but this is an area that I have no room for understanding. There is no excuse. Prayers and love to this girl and her family.

  20. MeritMan says:

There is a Daniel Wisehart age 47 from Canyon Country on facebook. A KHTS reporter assures me this is not the same Daniel Bryant Wisehart but I am not so sure. This person stopped posting to their page last August.
