Ceramic artists and those interested in taking pottery classes will no longer need to drive to other cities to enjoy the ceramic arts because there is a new large facility opening up right here in Old Town Newhall.
To celebrate, Ceramic Artist Studio Inc., (CASI), will throw a Grand Opening and Open House, Friday, Feb. 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come be a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony with the city of Santa Clarita’s Mayor Laurene Weste, take a tour of the studio, see a live potter’s wheel demonstration, have some refreshments, enjoy live music with Kelly’s Lot roadhouse blues band, and enroll in pottery classes that begin Monday, Feb. 10.
CASI is an artist’s paradise that has over 2,000 square feet of space, exceptional, brand new equipment including eight potter’s wheels, two large kilns, top notch supplies and ample shelving. The studio will be air conditioned and heated, offer a stereo system and brightly lit working areas. There will also be an art gallery and several ceramics sales each year. The experienced and talented instructors bring an array of skills that they are ready to share with the adult and teen classes each week. For those ceramic artists that can work independently, they will offer memberships with full use of the facilities and will include kiln firings.
“I want to offer a pottery school and artist studio where all levels of ceramic artists can gather and create with clay in a space with a warm and safe atmosphere. We will provide highest quality supplies and equipment so that everyone can produce their best work. We will strive to be a vital part of the community, and share our ideas and knowledge with those seeking growth and memorable experiences.” says Rima.
“Just want to let you know how nice it was talking to you on the phone a while back. I am really excited to get back to pottery, and your set-up sounds wonderful.” wrote Cathy K., a new client of CASI, to Rima.
