Two citizens gave chase to a man who allegedly tried to steal a woman’s cash near an ATM in Canyon Country Thursday morning and held him until deputies arrested him, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials reported Thursday afternoon.
Here’s the chase story from the station’s social media:
“A call came into the station reporting an attempted robbery just before 11 a.m. Thursday.
“A man brazenly tried to take a women’s cash after she went to a bank ATM on the 19100 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country.
“When bystanders started shouting, the suspect took off on foot.
“Two citizens who heard the commotion immediately took off after the suspect, chasing him as he ran down Soledad Canyon and around the corner from the bank.
“The citizens successfully caught up to him, and had the suspect detained when deputies arrived.
“Deputies arrested the 58-year-old transient on charges of attempted robbery.”
