Sammy Clarita, Santa Clarita’s favorite horse mascot and “neigh-bor,” just launched his very own website at SammyClarita.com.
The site features a Sammy Clarita biography, downloadable versions of his recent book “Sammy Stories: Meet Sammy Clarita” in both English and Spanish, as well as a coloring book version.
Parents and children can also visit the website to view a collection of photos of people who have found Sammy in the community throughout the years through his Instagram scavenger hunt.
By following clues posted on the city of Santa Clarita’s Instagram account (@cityofsantaclarita), you can find out where Sammy is hidden at a city facility or event. If you find him, you get to keep him! Just remember to share your picture with him using the hashtag #IFoundSammyClarita.
Sammy Clarita became a beloved mascot for the city of Santa Clarita when he was introduced to the community to help celebrate the city’s 30th anniversary in 2017. The stuffed animal horse was hidden at various city events and locations as part of a social media scavenger hunt.
Although the campaign was intended to last a year, Sammy Clarita’s popularity within the community grew so much that he continued to make appearances well after the 30th-anniversary celebration.
Sammy has made special visits at a hospital, the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, press conferences and much more. This year Sammy Clarita is celebrating the Santa Clarita Public Library.
