The SCV Mayor’s Committee for the Employment of Individuals with Disabilities is hosting its annual luncheon on May 15 at the Santa Clarita Activities Center.
This years keynote speakers are Rachelle Dardeau, M.S., M.S.W., (right) Executive Director of the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, and Susan Chapman Howland, MSG, Director of Education at the Alzheimer’s Association California Southland Chapter. They will cover the important and timely topic: “Memory Loss, Aging & The Workplace”.
It is likely that most adults alive today have been touched in one way or another by some aspect of this topic. People are living longer, and some employees are choosing to work instead of retiring. Additionally, Memory Loss can occur at a younger age than one might expect. Our committee feels that this topic has a fair amount of interest in our community. The purpose of the SCV Mayor’s Committee is to promote the benefits of employing persons with disabilities.
A tasty lunch will be available for $12.00, and part of the proceeds will go toward the organization and its Scholarship Fund.
For more information, or to RSVP (which is suggested as there is limited seating), please call 661-259-0033 X500, or contact us at scvmcemploy@gmail.com, and leave your name, contact number, number attending, and whether you will be purchasing lunch.
