The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation kicks off its public summer swim season beginning Saturday, June 2, 2018, with the opening of six swimming pools for free recreational swimming.
Twenty more pools will open on Saturday, June 9, and two pools will open on Saturday, June 16. The start of the 10-week recreational summer swimming season, which coincides with the various beginnings of summer vacations at school districts throughout the county, will be open to the public free of charge. All county pools will also be offering free or low-cost youth and adult swim lessons. Scholarships for the 10-lesson program for low-income households are available, and applications can be obtained at the pools.
