The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a pair of multi-million-dollar contracts Wednesday for routine maintenance and general upgrades to facilities throughout the county parks system.
Picnic shelter repair/replacement; ADA upgrades and roof repair to restroom buiding; concrete and asphalt repairs
Cost: (Part of a multi-facility allocation)
Hart Park – Rear Fence Line Repair/Replacement
Replacement and repairs to rear property line fence to comply with Southern California Edison easement
Cost: $102,000
A few items will require future board approval because they involve demolition and/or a more substantial scope of work. On that list is a kitchen upgrade and roof replacement for Val Verde Park at a cost of $300,000.
The two separate contracts went to Angeles Contractor Inc. of Buena Park and to MTM Construction Inc. of the city of Industry. MTM actually tied with Angeles as the lowest qualifying bidder on the second contract and won a coin toss.
