The Los Angeles County Operational Area Emergency Operations Center (CEOC) was activated at 6:00 a.m. PST in response to a strong winter storm moving through Los Angeles County. The storm system is impacting Los Angeles County cities and unincorporated area communities. The storm system is forecast to bring heavy rain, snow in the high elevations, isolated thunderstorms, and gusty winds to the area. The CEOC is activated in support of the cities of Glendora, Azusa, Monrovia, and Los Angeles activations of their Emergency Operations Centers due to storm related issues.
The National Weather Service is forecasting flash flood warnings for the Southern California Foothills through 9 p.m. Saturday March 1, 2014. This winter storm will continue to bring bands of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms to Southern California region. Rainfall rates are estimated at 1” to 2” for the Coastal and Valley areas and 1’ to 3” for the Mountain areas.

EVACUATIONS
Areas of Glendora, Monrovia, and Azusa remain under mandatory evacuation at this time.
During an evacuation all residents are advised to gather important documents, pets, and medicines and evacuate all members in their household.
ROAD CLOSURES
* Topanga Canyon, Calabasas: Cold Canyon Road, Wonderview Drive to Mulholland Highway closed due to broken water line.
* Malibu: Point Dume Beach parking lot closed due to tidal flooding on Westward Road access way.
* Glendora: Rainbow Drive at Sierra Madre Avenue closed due to storm conditions.
* Lake Hughes: Lake Hughes Road between Elizabeth Lake Road and Dry Gulch Road remains closed.
