Here is the Stevenson Ranch, Zone 3, Public Safety Report for the week of April 2 – April 8:

The following crimes were reported last week in Stevenson Ranch (Zone 3):

04/06/18
Attempt Robbery: 27500 The Old Road
The victim willingly got into a vehicle with two male adults so that they could go to the victim’s friend’s house to purchase marijuana. One of the suspects then produced an ‘AR-15 style’ rifle and demanded the victim give him his wallet and cell phone. The victim told the suspect he did not have his wallet or cell phone and demanded to be let out of the vehicle. The driver then stopped the vehicle and allowed the victim to leave.

Grand Theft (Auto): 25300 The Old Road
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s motorcycle (2016 Yamaha FZ-09, blu, Lic# 23F8447) from the parking lot of his apartment complex.

Tip of the week: Bicycles Must Follow All Traffic Laws
With the weather warming up, many of us will be dusting off our bicycles and enjoying the many roads and bike paths which are great for road biking. It should be noted though, that cyclists must obey all California Vehicle Codes (CVC) that cars must. Here are just a few which of the more common violations that we often see:
– Bicycles must travel on the right side of the roadway in the direction of traffic. 21650 CVC
– When riding at night, bicycles must be equipped with a white headlight and a red tail light. 21201(d) CVC, 21201(e) CVC
– Driving on the sidewalk is prohibited with the exception of entering/exiting a driveway. 21663 CVC
– Vehicles (including bicycles) must come to a complete stop at the limit line for a stop sign. 22450(a) CVC (This includes when making a right turn.)
– Vehicles (including bicycles) must come to a complete stop at the limit line for a red light. 21453 CVC (This includes when making a right turn.)
– The driver of a vehicle (including bicycles) must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians when crossing the roadway in both marked crosswalks, as well as unmarked cross walks. 21950(a) CVC
– A person shall not use a wireless telephone (cell phone) while driving (including bicycles) unless the device is configured for hands-free use. 23123(a) CVC

By staying alert and obeying all traffic laws, we can all enjoy our roads and bike paths safely

An AR-15 “style” weapon? If they brought that (which I doubt) for a basic marijuana purchase then it was a lot more than personal use.
