Stevenson Ranch Crime Report: Week of 12/26/16 – 01/01/17

The following crimes were reported during the week of 12/26/16- 01/01/17 in Stevenson Ranch (Zone 3):

12/26/16

Petty Theft – 25200 block The Old Road
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s purse containing various ID cards, debit cards, gift cards, and season passes. The victim had left her purse hanging from a chair unattended in the restaurant.

12/28/16

Burglary – 26900 block The Old Road
Two male adults entered the location and took 12 bottles of ‘Dom Perignon’ champagne into the bathroom of the location. The two suspects then left the location without the bottles being seen. An employee later found the empty boxes in the bathroom, and suspects the two males had the items hidden inside their clothing. Total loss was $1,800.00.

12/29/16

Burglary – 24800 block Pico Canyon Road
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the location by smashing the front glass door. Person(s) unknown kicked open several interior doors and damaged the safe. No items were taken. Total loss in damages was $9,200.00.

Burglary – 25200 block The Old Road
Three male adults forced entry into the location by smashing the front door window of the location. Nothing was taken. Total loss in damages was $500.00.

Burglary (Vehicle) – 26600 block Shakespeare Lane
Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a phone charger, reading glasses, sweatshirt, designer dress shirt, and dress pants. The victim stated his vehicle was locked. There were no signs of forced entry. Total loss was $985.00.

12/30/16

Petty Theft (Vehicle) – 25800 block Fleming Place
Person(s) unknown entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her designer sunglasses and phone charger. Total loss was $265.00.

01/01/17

Burglary (Vehicle) – 24200 block The Old Road
Person(s) unknown smashed the rear window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a wallet (containing a driver’s license and a $100.00 American Express gift card), a pair of boots and sunglasses. Total loss was $700.00.

Deputy Duxbury’s Tip of the Week: Preventing Vehicle Burglaries

A vehicle is not a safe or secure way to store high value items. Vehicles are very easy to see into, and windows are easily broken. Do not leave items like purses, wallets, laptop computers, cell phones, etc in your vehicle where they are easily seen. Keep these items with you whenever your vehicle will be left unattended. If you cannot, secure the items in your trunk where they are not easily seen from outside the vehicle.
