The Los Angeles County Department of Children & Family Services and Indi.com are excited to let you know about our social media campaign to recruit adoptive families and highlight National Adoption Awareness Month, called “Share Your Adoption Story.”

The goal is to raise awareness and inspire others to adopt one of our 400 waiting children and sibling groups.

We are asking anyone whose life has been touched by adoption to upload a brief video (about 2 minutes) or photo to www.indi.com/adoptionstory. Families are asked to share submitted videos and photos on different social media sites. Families can use their smart phones or a video camera to record their video. Videos can be emotional, inspirational, and/or funny.

Submissions that create the most social media “Buzz” will win prizes. There will also be the “Judge’s Pick” winners. Families must submit their video by December 31, 2016. Prizes include tickets to an LA Rams game, an LA Kings game, Magic Mountain, The Aquarium of the Pacific and a Harlem Globetrotters game along with other prize packages. We are inviting our media partners to join this meaningful project by asking their audience to share their stories or mention the challenge on the air or on their social media platforms.
