Continuing more than a decade of Christmas tradition, Faith Community Church will host the 12th Annual “Festividad for Christ” Christmas celebration for its neighbors in Newhall.
Guests will be served a free lunch, and given a frozen turkey to take home for their own Christmas celebrations. A snow play area will feature sledding, and children up to age 13 will receive a wrapped gift. Free, gently used clothing will be available for those who need it.
“Festividad for Christ” will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the church’s campus on Meadowridge Drive, just south of Newhall Avenue.
“‘Festividad’ is a much-loved tradition for our church and we look forward to celebrating Christmas with the neighborhood every year,” Senior Pastor Steve Jackson said. “It’s our way of sharing God’s blessings, and we invite anyone who lives in the neighborhood to join us for the festivities.”
“Festividad,” typically draws nearly 1,000 visitors, and organizers are expecting the same number of guests for this year’s installment. Church members have been collecting presents for boys and girls ages 0-3, 4-7, and 8-13, and reaching out to local businesses to support the event over the last several weeks.
“Festividad for Christ” Community Christmas Celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, at Faith Community Church, 24620 Meadowridge Dr. Santa Clarita, 91321.
