Faith Community Church will celebrate Christmas with the community on December 17 when it hosts the 11th Annual “Festividad for Christ” celebration for its neighbors in Newhall.
Guests are invited to enjoy a free lunch, and take home a frozen turkey for their own Christmas celebrations. Children up to age 13 will receive a wrapped gift, and a snow play area will offer sledding for the kids. Free gently used clothing will also be available for those who need it.
“Festividad for Christ” will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church’s campus on Meadowridge Drive, just south of Newhall Avenue
“We look forward to hosting ‘Festividad’ every year, and generously sharing God’s blessings with our neighbors,” Senior Pastor Steve Jackson said. “The event is free to attend, and we welcome anyone who lives in the neighborhood to celebrate with us.”
Approximately 1,000 people typically attend “Festividad,” and organizers are expecting the same number of guests for this year’s installment. Church members have been collecting presents for boys and girls ages 0-3, 4-7, and 8-13, and reaching out to local businesses to support the event over the last several weeks.
“It really is a blessing to give to others, and we’re excited to bring the joy of Christmas to our neighbors,” said Mike Metcalf, who is coordinating the event.
“Festividad for Christ” Community Christmas Celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 17, at Faith Community Church, 24620 Meadowridge Dr. Santa Clarita, CA 91321. For more information, please call the church at (661) 259-1741.
