[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are investigating an assault that was reported at the Santa Clarita Skate Park in Canyon Country.
The victim was struck in the head and face multiple times by assailant(s) wielding skateboards, according to the news release. As a result of the assault, the victim suffered several fractures to his jaw requiring multiple surgeries to repair.
“It’s a serious assault and that’s why we are sharing this information,” said Lt. Brenda Cambra with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The victim said he doesn’t know the area well and he walked over to a group of people in the parking lot to ask questions, according to the news release. There was a conversation which resulted in bad feelings and he was assaulted with a skateboard.
There were several people present who witnessed the assault, according to the news release, and Santa Clarita COBRA detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information to contact Detective Finn, 661-799-5153 at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
