The city of Santa Clarita is inviting residents to volunteer for Earth Arbor Day this April.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 at Central Park, as well as the annual Cowboy Festival, taking place at William S. Hart Park and venues throughout Old Town Newhall on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, 2016.
Interested volunteers can sign up for a variety of roles and shifts available at each event.
Volunteers for Earth Arbor Day, ages 12 and older, will assist with activity booths, such as solar cooking, distribution of lady bugs, herb gardens, recycled shirts, as well as tree tagging and mulch distribution. Tree planting will also take place on April 16 and volunteers as young as three years old may help out.
Volunteers for the annual Cowboy Festival will gain an insider’s look to the Festival by volunteering. The city is looking for youth and teens ages 10 to 14 to work in the food court area, and teen and adults ages 15 and older to assist with check-in, ushering, merchandise, shuttle site, and more.
For those interested in volunteering, sign-ups are available online at SantaClaritaVolunteers.com.
