You can almost smell the campfire as he spins his tales. Southern California-native John Bergstrom is set to appear on stage at the Repertory East Playhouse in Newhall tonight as SCVTV presents another installment of the OutWest Concert Series.
Bergstrom’s Western State of Mind brings music from and about the west in a sort of “music marriage;” Somethings old; somethings new; a couple borrowed; and a little bit of blues.
KHTS Radio producer, Mike Dowler describes John as “one of those musicians that knows how to tell a story and brings you into it. With deep spiritual underpinnings, he is filled with inspiration and he conveys emotion so well.”
John is a regular performer at the Autry National Center. He also appears at festivals, coffee houses, house concerts and a variety of community events.
Appearing with John are Gency Brown and John Nelson. Gency is an excellent soloist in her own right and adds dandy harmonies. John Nelson is an accomplished musician and singer with extensive experience in a variety of musical styles.
A show with John Bergstrom’s Western State of Mind is a fun time with original and well known tunes from and about the West.

Cool. Sounds like there are a few new places around Newhall. Is the Autry National Center the same as Melody Ranch one wonders.
Never mind. I suddenly remembered where the Autry Nation Center is. We just called it the Gene Autry Museum back in the past, somewhere.
