Steven Lavine
President
California Institute of the Arts
During an unprecedented 27-year tenure as President of CalArts, Steven Lavine secured the future of the institute by establishing the Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance, the Herb Alpert School of Music with its distinctive Wild Beast venue, and the Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater (REDCAT) at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. And, of course, the CalArts Community Arts Partnership (CAP), an award-winning national model for arts education.
Lavine has led a school where creative experimentation and freedom is a leading principle. As a result, CalArts has given the world some of its most influential musicians, animators, artists and performers. Don’t miss this special night with Steven Lavine.
