The American Heart Association’s (AHA) Go Red For Women movement and national sponsor Macy’s invite Santa Clarita women to get pampered and learn about heart healthy living at the Girlfriends Go Red event on Feb. 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Macy’s Westfield Valencia Town Center (24201 West Valencia Blvd., Valencia, CA 91355).

The event, held in celebration of Heart Month, includes a beauty gala, makeup touch up, blood pressure screenings, Hands-Only CPR demonstration and heart health information. Participants will also receive a Go Red goodie bag, drinks and the opportunity to win a $100 Macy’s gift card.

Registration is $20 before the event and $25 on event day. Space is limited. To register, contact Belen McDaniel at (213) 291-7045 or belen.mcdaniel@heart.org.

Heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are the leading causes of death in women, claiming the lives of 430,000 mothers, daughters, sisters and grandmothers every year. More women die of cardiovascular diseases than all forms of cancer combined.

Girlfriends Go Red is part of the AHA’s Go Red For Women initiative aimed at bringing women together and empowering them with the information and tools to live longer, stronger, heart-healthy lives.
