The event, held in celebration of Heart Month, includes a beauty gala, makeup touch up, blood pressure screenings, Hands-Only CPR demonstration and heart health information. Participants will also receive a Go Red goodie bag, drinks and the opportunity to win a $100 Macy’s gift card.

Heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are the leading causes of death in women, claiming the lives of 430,000 mothers, daughters, sisters and grandmothers every year. More women die of cardiovascular diseases than all forms of cancer combined.

Girlfriends Go Red is part of the AHA’s Go Red For Women initiative aimed at bringing women together and empowering them with the information and tools to live longer, stronger, heart-healthy lives.

About Go Red For Women

The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement has been impacting the health of women for 10 years. More than 627,000 women’s lives have been saved, but the fight is far from over.  Now is the time to shout louder, stand stronger and demand change. It’s time to come together in a movement that is not just FOR women, but BY women.  It’s time for women to Go Red. Visit GoRedForWomen.org for more information or call 1-888-MY-HEART.
