Hundreds of cowboys and cowgirls will gather in Old Town Newhall dressed in their boots and Western gear for the “Saddle Up” SENSES block party, which is the first event to kick off the 20th Annual Cowboy Festival. The event will feature a mechanical bull, line dancing, live country music, gourmet food trucks, street performers and Western themed activities.  Guests can also have their photo taken with friends in front of a real, authentic chuck wagon.

At 7:30 p.m., the west side of Main Street will hold a ceremony where this year’s honorees Academy Award winning actor Lee Marvin, actor Rodolfo Acosta and cowboy singer Stuart Hamblen will be inducted in the Walk of Western Stars.  The Walk not only brings life to Western legends by immortalizing them into the streets of Newhall, it commemorates their contributions to Western film history.

Cowboy Couture, the Western inspired, big city, cowboy infused premiere fashion event of the year will kick off the 2013 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. This County rock and roll fashion show rides into town on Thursday April 18 in the heart of Old Town Newhall, and in conjunction with The City of Santa Clarita and the SENSES event.  Festivities start at 6:30pm with a reception in The Hydeaway Lounge, The REP’s exclusive full service cocktail bar, with the fashion show starting at 8pm. Western designer fashions, vintage cowboy apparel, and celebrity models make this event a great kick-off to the Festival. Shop for the latest Western wear before and after the show. It’s a great opportunity to outfit yourself for the Cowboy Festival.
