L.A. County firefighters made quick work of a blaze that broke out Monday along the 14 Freeway between Golden Valley Road and Via Princessa.

The fire was reported at 11:51 a.m., and it briefly threatened homes in the area.

By 12:26 p.m., the active flames had been doused. The fire was held to 3 to 5 acres.
