Los Angeles County firefighters, assisted by the USDA Forest Service, contained a grass/brush fire in the Santa Clara riverbed and held it to 2.5 acres. The fire was off of Soledad Canyon Road at Stonecrest Road around 10:55 a.m. (Rick McClure)

“The fire got up to 1 acre but we have a knock down as of 11:27am,” said Inspector Quvondo Johnson.
A line has been established around the fire and some people are being released, said Johnson.
Thursday, 11:25 a.m.
No Structures are threatened according to fire officials.
Traffic may be slowing down on the 14 freeway due to onlookers.
The Los Angeles Fire department is fighting a half acre brush fire near Soledad Canyon Road and Stone Crest, said Inspector Quvondo Johnson.
“We had an Initial Report of smoke near Soledad Canyon Road and Stone Crest the fire department is en route,” Johnson said.
