A clothes dryer went haywire Tuesday afternoon in the Valencia Northbridge tract, prompting a response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Fire fighters from Stations 73, 111 and 156 were able to contain the fire to a second-story laundry room before it could spread to the attic. The house is located in the 23300 block of Timberlane Drive.
