NORTHRIDGE – Former CSUN men’s soccer players Edwin Rivas and Gabe Robinson have earned spots on the 2019 Las Vegas Lights FC roster.
Rivas was taken in the second round (37th overall) by Toronto FC in the 2015 MLS Superdraft after completing a Matador career in which he was selected first team All-Conference in 2012, second team All-Conference in 2013, and honorable mention All-Conference in 2011.
“Edwin deserves everything he gets,” said CSUN head coach Terry Davila. “I never been prouder of a player that came from our program!”
Robinson was a four-year letterwinner for the Matadors and helped CSUN earn NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013 and 2016. Robinson was an honorable mention All-Conference selection as a senior as CSUN won the Big West Conference Tournament title.
“Gabe worked very hard to become the player he is today,” Davila said.
The Las Vegas Lights are members of the USL. The USL is North America’s largest professional soccer organization, overseeing the USL Championship, USL League One and USL League Two.
