Friends of Las Vegas shooting victim Dominica Zeolla have set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for her medical expenses.
The Canyon High School and COC graduate “made it through surgery and is recovering in the ICU,” according to Facebook posts and confirmed by multiple on- and offline sources.
According to friend Katie Dillon’s Facebook post on Monday afternoon, Zeolla is out of surgery but may need another operation.
“She is in the comfort of her family and we all hope for a speedy recovery,” Dillon wrote.
“Love you, Dom! Stay strong, I know you’re a tough chick.”
Friend Shelly Westerson wrote: “We have set up a GoFundMe account for Dominica and her family. She is currently in ICU and in stable condition after being shot in the chest in Las Vegas last night. Anything helps. We want her and her family to know we support them during this difficult time.”
The “Road to Recovery for Dominica” GoFundMe page reads:
“Our beloved friend, sister and daughter Dominica was a victim of the Route 91 Country Festival shooting that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada last night. I am so grateful that she is out of surgery and now in stable condition, but the road to recovery is going to be a long one. Prayers and support for her and her family at this time are being asked from all of us, as a community. We are setting up this page for her and her family to get Dominica back where she needs to be, home and healthy with all of us. Money will go towards hospital bills and anything else she may need to recover from this tragedy. Anything helps. Thank you.”
The fund generated $1,015 in donations in its first half hour online early Monday afternoon; the goal is $150,000.
