The Feaver, aka Narwhals
Santa Clarita teen rock band The Feaver debuted on SCVTV’s “House Blend” show four years ago. They rocked their way out of the SCV, winning competitions, playing venues like the Whisky and Roxy in West Hollywood and the House of Blues in Chicago.
After some time off in 2013, Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, Zack Mendenhall and Cole Preston re-emerged earlier this year, changing the band name to The Narwhals. In the spring, we had the band back on “House Blend” for an encore appearance.
And now, The Narwhals are featured on the soundtrack of the Disney comedy “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” opening in theaters everywhere Friday. The connection: Dylan is one of the movie’s co-stars, playing the teenaged son of Jennifer Garner and Steve Carrel’s characters.
The Narwhals’ “Surf Surf Don’t Drown” is one of the six tunes included on Disney’s just-released soundtrack EP. The band is also releasing its own EP featuring “Surf Surf” on Friday. Both are available at iTunes.
On Saturday night at 10, we’ll present a special encore telecast of The Narwhals’ most recent “House Blend” show, which includes a live version of “Surf Surf.” Catch it on SCVTV and streaming everywhere else at SCVTV.com.
