WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following President Donald Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), a member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and co-sponsor of the DREAM Act and the Agricultural Worker Program Act, released the following statement:
“DACA recipients make our nation strong and represent the best of America. The President’s decision undermines our nation’s values and is a cruel betrayal to the more than 800,000 young people, including more than 200,000 Californians, who have only ever known the United States of America as their home.
“Dreamers are Americans in every way except a piece of paper. With this decision, President Trump is telling classmates of our children they don’t belong, employees of Fortune 100 companies they aren’t welcome, and saying to those who serve in our military and run small businesses that they should leave.
“These young people deserve better than that. They came out of the shadows and submitted every detail of their personal lives to prove that they were lawful, productive members of our society. By turning his back on our young Dreamers and their families, President Trump has once again sided with division and hate.
“The consequences of this decision will be devastating. It will split up families, force young people back to countries they never knew, and cost our economy billions of dollars. It is heartless.
“Now more than ever, it is time we roll up our sleeves and stand with these young people who contribute to our community and our economy. Republicans in Congress must immediately allow a vote on the DREAM Act, a bipartisan bill we introduced again this summer. We are better than this.”

What part of illegal do you need explained.
Shut up Kamala, the parents broke the law…
And educated the children to fight rules, hide in the shadows, among other things. In turn, when we treate them as criminals we reinforce those survival skills. This creating mass fear in the community creating rules that impact an implied bias against a culture. Oh wait, thats your plan….
If its important to her, she should poll her constituents and get behind her desk instead in front of cameras
What a showboater! Get busy in Congress. Never met a camera she didn’t like! They sent you to Washington. Do something for ALL people.
All the Dems are grandstanding for 2020
Guess she wants to make a big splash as a new Senator.
Chuck Schumer was the all time camera seeker. Almost every time Obama spoke or was on camera right behind him was Schumer. It really became humorous.
Then do your job and figure out a way to solve this issue. Congress has been given 6 months to find a solution. Stand up, do your job starting TODAY to find a positive resolution. Don’t waste the Dreamers time and effort by fighting over a solution.
So Trump sided with the law? A law that Democrats, who controlled Congress, were unable to change… on top of that… she’s committing a micro-aggression by wearing straight hair. Bigot.
The parents brought them illegally, they all need to go back and apply legally like everyone else
Deport them all
Hey, how about just enforcing the current laws?
When will people realize politians have had 40 years to change immigration and legalize pot. At least one party hasn’t lied to their voters.
Quit talking to cameras, do your job
She has no clue….just go back to sleeping your way to the top ….
Whenever I read comments here it just makes me think Awesometown should be renamed Assholetown.
Paul, then move and this town will have one less A—-e! Try Sylmar,or North Hollywood. You’ll fit right in!

Thanks for proving my point Shirley, but I’m not going anywhere. Have a great day!
She’s calling for a bill? So she DOES understand how the system should work after all. This shouldn’t be a decree by the president
