Video: YouTube.com: Hart Dance Team Prop Arena USA National Champions 2014

The Hart Dance team is taking its latest act to prime time on national television.

On Tuesday night the 28-member dance team will perform its latest Cirque du Soleil-inspired prop dance on the NBC nationwide talent show, “America’s Got Talent.”

“We’ve always been the underdog in the valley, so for them to be noticed and be seen in this light is an amazing opportunity for them and myself,” said Kat Leist, choreographer and dance instructor.hartdanceteam2

The dance team gained nationwide attention after taking home a national championship at the 2014 United Spirit Association National Dance Competition at the Anaheim Convention Center in March.

“We were invited to audition for (America’s Got Talent) so we didn’t have to go through open casting calls,” said Leist.

The team traveled to Hollywood on April 24 to audition in front of the judging panel at the Dolby Theatre.

“We can’t give anyone dehartdanceteamtails about the outcome, we just hope everyone tunes in to watch on Tuesday,” said Hart Assistant Principal Jennifer Huhn.

The team’s 2:30 minute routine had to be condensed into a 90-second version for the television show, said Leist.

It’s set to a remix version of “Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap and utilizes a large box that the dancers camouflage into, creating a “visual illusion for the audience,” said Leist.

America’s Got Talent will be televised Tuesday, June 10 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
