Staff and volunteers at the Gibbon Conservation Center welcomed a new baby gibbon on December 7, 2016, and are now asking for the community’s help in choosing a name for the new member of the GCC.
The baby boy was born to mother Tuk and father Domino, and the staff and volunteers at the GCC have not been able to decide on a name for the critter, but have narrowed down the options to three: Henry, after one of their donors; Howard, after their vet; and Yoda, because of the baby’s ears.
Now, the GCC is turning to the community for help, hosting a contest to name the “Little Baby No Name”. At $1 a vote, the GCC is offering everyone the opportunity to go online to place your vote; for that option, click [here]. In addition, there will be three boxes labeled with the name choices right by the family’s enclosure, so that visitors to the GCC can also vote.
All donations collected in the naming contest will go toward the GCC’s “Medical Fund” which is used to cover medical expenses for the gibbons. Cast your votes soon: the naming contest ends on February 7.
