LANCASTER – The JetHawks jumped out to a three-run lead, but Stockton scored seven in the fifth inning Friday night to hand Lancaster a 9-4 loss at The Hangar.

The JetHawks have won just four of 11 series openers this season.

Lancaster (23-25) got on the board in the third inning on a two-run double from Alan Trejo, who led the way with three RBI for the JetHawks on the night. Roberto Ramos hit his team-leading 12th home run in the fourth, putting Lancaster in front, 3-0.

Logan Longwith (1-4) cruised through the first four innings, facing the minimum while allowing just one hit. That all changed in the fifth, as the righty was knocked out after allowing three runs. Salvador Justo entered with the bases loaded, and promptly gave up a grand slam to Skye Bolt. Lancaster’s three-run lead became a four-run deficit as Stockton went up, 7-3.

The seven runs are the most Lancaster has allowed in an inning this season. After four nearly spotless innings, Longwith wound up being charged with six runs.

Stockton’s Parker Dunshee (3-2) allowed four runs (three earned) over seven innings to pick up the win. Lancaster’s four runs were the most against Dunshee so far this season.

Stockton (29-19) added runs in the sixth and eighth innings to seal the victory. The Ports are now 22-9 against the South Division this season.

Despite the defeat, the JetHawks remain just a game back of Inland Empire in the standings. The 66ers fell to Rancho Cucamonga at LoanMart Field Friday.

The JetHawks were out to even the series with a win Saturday night. Brandon Gold (3-3) got the ball in game two against Stockton’s Brian Howard (4-2, 2.56). The first 1,000 fans through the gates took home a JetHawks armed forces hat. First pitch from The Hangar was 6:05 p.m.
