Santa Clarita Valley-based nonprofit Avenues Supported Living Services (Avenues SLS) celebrates its 20th anniversary by hosting the inaugural Cornhole Tournament fundraiser at the Old West Masonic Lodge in Newhall on Saturday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Avenues SLS provides services assisting disabled Santa Clarita adults, including individualized home supported living services, community-based day programs, travel trips, distribution center, job training and coaching.
All proceeds will directly benefit the individuals with disabilities Avenues SLS supports by providing essential resources to assist them
in living fulfilled lives.
Funds raised will help purchase communication devices for non-verbal
clients; safety grab bars for physically disabled clients; transportation/travel expenses; household furnishings and supplies; and much more.
Tournament play will be run by an official California Cornhole Association professional with generous cash prizes awarded. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Registration is now open and participation is open to the whole community. The two-person entry fee is $100. Register [here].
“Our primary goal is to hold a day of celebration and fun for the community while also raising revenue for Avenues SLS,” said Cindy Beals, Avenues SLS fundraiser chairperson.
Beals adds there’s still time for more event sponsors and donors to participate, providing gift certificates, silent auction items, gift baskets, beverages, items for opportunity drawings and more. Contact her at (661) 702-9788 or AvenuesCindy@yahoo.com before June 19 to make arrangements.
The Old West Masonic Lodge address is 19310 Avenues of the Oaks B in Friendly Valley, Newhall 91321.
