Southern California’s population is expected to grow by 4 million people over the next 25 years – many of them coming to northern Los Angeles County. How will we handle it?
That’s what the Southern California Association of Governments is working out, with input from you.
SCAG is developing a long-range vision for Southern California for 2016. SCAG is requesting input on concerns and priorities on various issues including to traffic congestion, housing, air quality, green & open spaces and public health. SCAG is touring the region with several sites with the Inland Empire, Orange and Los Angeles County.
The Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS) is a long-range visioning plan that balances future mobility and housing needs with economic, environmental and public health goals.
SCAG officials will be in Santa Clarita (and elsewhere) this month to discuss the strategy.
The public is encouraged to attend the local meeting on Monday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Santa Clarita Activities Center, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.
