The Lady Cougars tennis program has now won in four of its last five outings, including back-to-back home victories, after defeating conference opponent Victor Valley College 8-1 on Thursday.

Canyons (5-3, 5-1) currently sits second in the Western State Conference standings, trailing only first-place Santa Barbara City College (9-1, 7-0). COC has had two non-conference matches canceled and a conference match vs. Bakersfield postponed due to inclement weather.

At Thursday’s match, COC head coach Patty LaBat’s squad won all but one singles match.

Victor Valley forfeited points in the sixth singles match and third doubles pairing due to a roster shortage.
