Karis Frankian
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Master’s College women’s track and field team had a banner day at the 2015 Mangrum Invitational in San Marcos.
In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Abigail Frankian placed second overall with a blazing time of 11 minutes and 39.50 seconds.
TMC’s Tess Thompson finished the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.74. Thompson later competed in the 200-meter dash and bagged a time of 28.04. Finally, in the long jump, Thompson cleared 4.29 meters.
Morgan Pedrick finished the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.09.
The bulk of the Lady Mustangs competed in the 3000-meter run with Karis Frankian leading the way by placing first overall with a time of 9:58.43. Charity Schroeder followed up with a 12th-place finish at 10:45.45. Close behind was Rachel Rush by placing 13th overall at 11:09.16. Amanda Nesheim finished the event in 11:33.30, while Jessica Hawley capped things off at 12:37.62.
Finally, in the pole vault, Ellie Kindlund cleared 2.77m in her flight.
For the next two weeks, the Lady Mustangs will continue to train in preparation for the GSAC Track and Field Championships held at Westmont College in Santa Barbara on April 24 and 25.
