A man was killed Wednesday when he allegedly lost control of his car while driving near the Outlets in Tejon and was ejected, California Highway Patrol officials said Thursday.
A 30-year-old Hispanic male, from Lamont, was driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan west on Laval Road, near the I-5 freeway and east of the Tejon outlets, at an unknown rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle, said Officer Adriaan Garcia with the Fort Tejon CHP Division. Garcia said it appears that the man drove across the opposing lane into the dirt, collided with a barbed wire fence and rolled twice before being ejected from the vehicle.
The man appeared to not be wearing his seatbelt, Garcia said. The collision was reported around 2:40 p.m.
The man’s identity has not been confirmed yet, pending next of kin notification.
No other parties were involved in the crash.
