About Trae Mundt

A native Californian, Trae Mundt grew up in Big Bear Lake and San Diego. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University Chico and then moved to Eugene, Ore. It was in Eugene where Trae discovered she loved to draw and began her three year journey to research and illustrate every state flower. In 1997 her collection, “America’s Favorite Flowers” was born. She moved from Eugene to Carlsbad, Calif., and sold her framed art prints at fairs and festivals throughout Southern California. Her California poppy print is part of the decor at Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel in Buena Park.

Trae now lives in Santa Clarita with her husband and calico kitty. Her state flower botanical illustrations are featured at her gallery, www.trestrae.com. In February 2011 she published “State Flowers of America- a commemorative coloring book” an educational book for children featuring 52 botanical illustrations.

Trae is a member of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association. She works with both acrylic and oil paints for her original paintings and pencil and charcoal for her original sketches. She loves rich bold color and fine detail.
