Abstract aerosol dreamscapes will line the walls of the art gallery in The MAIN in Old Town Newhall during the month of May. The dreamy colorful pieces are part of the new exhibit called “Climate Change,” featuring paintings by Los Angeles based painter, muralist and designer, Sart. The exhibit is free and open to residents during gallery hours: Tuesday through Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The MAIN (formerly Repertory East Playhouse) is located at 24266 Main Street.
Residents are invited to attend a free public art reception for “Climate Change” on Thursday, May 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The MAIN. Participants will enjoy light appetizers, entertainment and a chance to meet the artist.
Sart specializes in abstract aerosol dreamscapes where he displays his technical skills and manipulation of aerosol paint. His paintings evoke a sense of depth and translucency by layering thin mists of paint on a two-dimensional flat plane. A recurring theme in his paintings is thecolibri (Spanish for hummingbird), which can symbolize fearlessness or be seen as messengers from the afterworld. This symbol combined with streaks of color make this collection of paintings fearlessly unique.
