CalArts World Music and Dance Festival 2019
California Institute of the Arts
Friday, May 3, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 4, Noon to 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 5, Noon to 10:00 p.m.

The 2019 Annual World Music and Dance Festival brings musical traditions from around the world to Southern California, courtesy of the Herb Albert School of Music at CalArts. Over three days, there will be more than 20 concerts scheduled on two open-air stages with music from around world, including Bali, the Balkans, Brazil, Cuba, India, Japan, Persia and more. The Society Comedy Troupe May the Fourth Be With You
The MAIN
Saturday, May 4, 8:00 p.m.

At The Society Comedy Troupe, a cast of professional actors and comedians will take you on a comedy adventure that is never the same twice. Most shows begin with a short warm-up to get the audience ready, then our Players take the stage and the spontaneity begins. Because they get suggestions for scenes and seek input from the audience, you can – and will – directly affect the show. Cha Cha Dance
Newhall Community Center
Thursday, May 9, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

May JAM brings you the Cha Cha Dance. One, two, cha-cha-cha! The Cha Cha is a happy, carefree and fun Latin dance. D’Wilfri DanceArt and Entertainment, located right here in Santa Clarita, will teach you the moves of this fun dance. In between sessions, enjoy live music from the Bobby Cuba Band. All JAMS are FREE and all ages and skill levels are welcome. JAM Sessions are a program of the Ford Theatre Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the Ford Theatres through programs that engage and enrich surrounding communities. Artist Reception – Unstill Life
The MAIN
Thursday, May 16, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The Santa Clarita community is invited to the latest art exhibit reception for “Unstill Life” by Ralph Massey. Guests attending this FREE reception will enjoy light appetizers and have the opportunity to meet the artist. Massey has been creating art for over six decades. His art has been featured in over 200 exhibitions and galleries. His work is widely collected and can be seen in celebrity homes including Barbara Streisand, Herb Albert, Julie Andrews, Blake Edwards and even royalty. Queen Elizabeth II owns a piece of art by Ralph Massey. The exhibit is on display from May 15 to June 14. For more information, click [here].
